ASP Nuke 0.55 Released!

from the Software Releases dept.
The second installment of ASP Nuke has been published and is now available for download. Head on over to SourceForge and download the latest version. This version offers major improvements in the setup and install wizard along with application parameters which are configured in the database.
I noticed that some people were trying to install the application in a sub-folder of their web site root. The previous version of ASP Nuke did not allow this but with this release it is now possible and works very well.
The only thing you need to worry about is name clashes. The application uses global variables in the form of the ASP Application object. With the next release I will try to correct this by using a common prefix for all application variables used by the application (something like "AN_"?)
There are some pretty major tasks left to do. I need to implement paging of a lot of the result sets so we don't get pages with a thousand records on them. I also need to add module configurations for the copyright notices that appear on the web pages.
I am going to add support for RSS syndication feeds very shortly so keep an eye out for that. Next task on our list is to improve the modularity of the site. Following closely, right on its heels is to flesh out the theme manager and write up some more documentation such as how to create themes.
May install in a sub-directory! Now you can install ASP Nuke in a sub-directory (sub-folder) Previously required that it be installed at the sites top-level Improvements to installation process Web wizard to initialize and setup the ASP Nuke application Improved wizard for setting up the database schema / import data Added test for database connection string attribute (global.asa) Tabbed interface to setup the application configuration variables HTTP upload integrated to the web form library (site_lib.asp) May limit uploads by mime type / file extension / file size Members may upload avatars in the message forums Profile editor for the message forums Added application parameter admin Added module parameter admin Stylesheet changed to ASP file (for absolute image paths)
